Amelia Lalala Human Steps

Found on [info]l3antha.

I keep playing it over and over again... That first running and catching scene... the sound she makes when he catches her.

I'm waiting for my man
Got 26 dollars in my hand
Up to Lexington 125
feelin' sick and dirty
Huh, I'm waiting for my man

Hey white boy, what you doin' uptown
Hey white boy, you chasin' my women around
Pardon me sir, it's furthest from my mind
I'm just waitin' for a dear-dear friend of mine
I'm waiting for my man, come on

Here he comes, he's all dressed in black
PR shoes and a big straw hat
He's never early, he's always late
first thing you learn is that you always gotta wait
I'm waiting for my man

Up to a brownstone, up three flights of stairs
Everybody's pinned you and nobody cares
He's got the works, gives you sweet taste
then you gotta split because you got no time to waste
I'm waiting for my man

Hey baby, don't you holler, don't you ball and shout
I'm feeling good, I'm gonna work it on out
I'm feeling good, feeling so fine
until tomorrow, but that's just some other time
I'm waiting for my man
I'm waiting for my man
I'm waiting for my man
man-man-man-man-man-man-man

wow, and that's the original version. Such a complete change in what I 'see' in my head.

just a few updates

Shoes have been ordered. I went with payless (2.5in heeled maryjanes) because I cannot bring myself to spending more then 20 bucks on shoes! Thanks for the links, though :) Just.. 100 dollars for shoes I'll wear once in a while? No matter how pretty, ouch! Plus, almost all the sites refused to go over size 11 and I'm a 12 :/

Matthew and I went and picked out our bands yesterday. I had been planning on just getting a simple band with no stone in it, but it turned out that it was actually cheaper to. So I got one with a lovely green stone that alters to a deep purple. I can't recall the name though, it's not mystic topaz like my other ring, but similar in how it changes in the light.

Matt was happy that I seem to prefer staying away from the traditional rings that cost 3 months of his salary ;)

He got a uh... tungsten carbonate? What ever it is, it's got a design in it that seems to fluxuate, really nifty! And almost indestructable too :)

As for commissions, going to start painting Song of Roses today.

Nigel really likes the one I'm doing for him. This'll be on tea'd paper.

The girl who has the Moon tattooed from Sun & Moon wants to commission another tattoo for her, and it is a underwater sea goddess :) I have to get prices out to her to see what we can do for that...

I still have yet to figure out Ebay, though I haven't really looked at it much since a week ago. I want to give it a whirl with this painting.

I'm going to also probably put up some print info for that one above and my Tree Goddess.

I think I need to watch those today while I paint >_>

found on [info]v_champion's LJ

I just love watching this guy's face when he first comes out, nervous as heck, then the music comes on and he's someone completely and utterly different.

This piece is one of those songs that has what I like to call the "holy note". basically, if they hit it right, either you get a tingling sensation from hearing it, or you start crying. ;) Carmina Burana has it at the end of the 2nd to last movement before crashing back down into O'Fortuna (it's played at beginning and end of the whole cycle). Sebelius' violin concerto has it in the first movement, near the end...

Usually it's one of the highest and loudest and there's usually a 'breath' before you touch it.

For Strings and One Bell

Arvo Pärt - Cantus In Memory of Benjamin Britten for strings and one bell.mp3

The amazon page for the full CD

If you download this piece, there's one small requirement.

It's 7 minutes long. You have to turn your sound on loud enough that you can hear pianissimo(very soft) from your bed or floor. It will go up to forte, so don't blast out your ears. You must lay on your back, get comfortable and close your eyes. Then just let it pull you away.

I used to listen to this piece and all of Arvo Pärt's music in my parents living room with the surroundsound going. It's very repeative, but beautiful, and it lets you just completely relax if you let it.

I have seen:

A pure white feather falling slowly to its death on a clear blue sky.

Great towers, some so close, passing them, they become so far they only exist as memories.

I never see anything different, it's always one of those two that follow the feeling that I'm being pulled down into something warm and soft.

If you listen to it, please do so with at least your eyes closed (if you cannot take your headphones out), and let me know what you see.

SKETCHES:

Where I think I'll be going with artwork over the next month )

(watch that, it looks really really good)

I love this commercial. The music really makes me miss when I used to to play in my college's string quartet (to those that didn't know, I used to play the violin from age 8 > 22/23)
