Commission Status

  • Children's book Princess and the Whale

  • Children's book about A girl visiting China.

  • Movie painting

  • This is open to anything: personal projects large and small, RPGs (though please bear in mind my style for this, some stuff just DOESN’T work with me), or what ever else your little hearts desire.

I prefer traditional, but will do digital (prices same as watercolor. For a print size file, you do the printing). Shipping depends on the size and country it will be traveling to.

Materials: Pen, pencil – paper, illustration board only
    Tea – watercolor paper only
Watercolor – thick watercolor paper only
Acrylic/Oil – watercolor paper, canvas, clayboard (smooth surface, depending on size, comes mounted)

All other projects are based on what it is you need, or a budget that you have in mind already. I do not do free art, art trades, or full blown porn (nudity is, obviously, okay)

Interested? Please fire me an email here: laura@fallenlights.net

Anything priced over $150 can be broken up into smaller payments.

The hidden history of the world is a story of powerful feminine forces, long expunged by the patriarchy. Laura Pelick is working to help reclaim this lost knowledge with her portraits of archetypal female power.

Goddesses, elementals, and fairies hold a stately court in Ms. Pelick’s kingdom of imagination, presiding over deep forests, desert plains, and snow-swept fields. These mythological forces given form are most often confident and serene, but some are tormented by unseen forces or unexplained situation and chose to hide their true faces behind elaborate masks.

Whatever their disposition, Laura’s figures are rendered with varying levels of abstraction, but they always maintain their dignity, femininity, and humanity.

    facebook, tumblr

    Feb. 11th, 2012 | 08:48 am

Still doing most of my posting over here on my facebook and on my new Tumblr account. In fact, I've uploaded probably a good dozen pieces since the last post of the Mask Collector.

Almost every time I poke about on Livejournal it's choking up on me and I wind up closing it down before reading any new posts or leaving comments. Might let it wither and die by the summer time.

    The Mask Collector

    12x18 watercolor & acrylic

Listened to far too much Tea Party (specially Transmission) while working on this one:). Sort of toying with the idea of redoing the Dark Goddess just to see what I'd get style-wise, and well... got this instead :)

Cutting some prices to a few paintings

    Jan. 3rd, 2012 | 09:42 am

So money got a little iffy the last couple of months (I'm not starving yet, my husband is awesome and works his ass off, and I picked up a part time job), but we had a few pricey hurdles that ate into my reserves.

Basically, these are either commissions that were never paid for, or paintings that really, really should have a wall but for some reason haven't walked yet, so I'm fiddling around with their prices to make them a little less uh.. painful. Anything over $100 can be done in installments via mailed check.

    Listening to the Trees
Commissioned painting that was never paid for, so up for sale she goes.
Watercolor and acrylic on tea paper

    Cockles of My Heart
8x10in watercolor on tea stained paper. Was made for an art show in St. Louis a couple of summers back.
    Was: $150
    Now: $100+shipping

This way, that way, and all over...

    Dec. 27th, 2011 | 09:45 am

It's been a while, but I just spent the last hour or so going through the list on my livejournal and cleaning out anyone that hasn't posted an update in over two years (save for a few exceptions).

Everything will remain public here, but if you think I deleted you in error (seriously, I cleaned out almost 150 names here, I might've goofed here and there), poke me and I'll friend up again. If you don't post and just watch your LJ feed updates? Everything here is set so you can see it and comment on it :) Pretty much down to just posting my artwork anyways when I remember to. Like everyone else, I've migrated outways.

    Tumblr

*my* facebook - No art really posted here, but it's where I post now a days. Youtube links, complaining, bitching, so on and so forth.

ART facebook - Just art updates, a hell of a lot more frequent than here, plus I do WIPs and sketches and sales here first.

I haven't a clue how to post the link to google+ but I'm on there as Laura Siadak.

    Dec. 20th, 2011 | 07:26 am

Painting I did for my parents, based off of a photo (behind the cut) my mother took from the porch of their house. Down in North Carolina, one fall morning. She walks around her town sometimes taking snapshots of trees for me :)
